The research group of Prof. Anders Kristensen, works within nano-photonics and its integration with micro/nano fluidics for new sensor and actuator technology. Focus is on optical metasurfaces and photonic crystals enabling flat optical elements and compact sensors, addressing applications within biomedical devices. The research is complemented by technology development for industrial scale manufacture of nano-photonic components.
We seek a research assistant in laser printed thin optical elements to develop prototype lenses. The project combines research within the fields of nano-photonics/optical metasurfaces, clean-room based planar microfabrication and laser machining. The position is part of on-going early innovation activities with the aim to commercialize our novel ultra-high resolution laser printing technology.

The Department of Bioengineering and Biomedicine at DTU, Technical University of Denmark, invites applications for a position as professor in integrated micro- and nanotechnological systems for biological and biomedical applications with focus on research and innovation.
The successful candidate is expected to lead an international competitive research group focusing on the development of highly sensitive and reliable point of use (POU) technologies with specific emphasis on microorganisms in medical diagnostic, treatment, and monitoring as well as in environmental monitoring. It is also expected that the research has focus on applying physics in biological systems to separate and differentiate biological structures to monitor biological processes and to optimize growth, nutrient delivery, and waste removal in cellular and bacterial cultures.
At DTU Biosustain we are looking for a specialist in CHO Cell Engineering.
The successful candidate will be expected to plan and conduct experimental work in collaboration with the group. This entails design, experiment, and analysis of CHO cell engineering and process development.
You will be responsible for identifying cellular factors that enhance growth, productivity, and product quality through high-throughput screening technologies and systems biology data generation. Development of platform process for the various target protein production and precise analysis will be conducted. Generation of engineered cell lines via CRISPR/Cas9 will be also conducted.
A Postdoc position is available at the Section for Protein Chemistry & Enzyme Technology. Research in this section aims to attain new knowledge within protein- and enzyme-structure function relations, enzyme-substrate interactions, biocatalytic mechanisms, energy relations and kinetics, and on enzyme-protein robustness and stability.
The main theme of the work will be rational enzyme design. This will involve thorough kinetic characterization of enzyme activity on insoluble substrate as well as analysis and mathematical modelling of the results. The project has special focus on relationships between substrate binding strength and catalytic efficacy, and this includes analysis of so-called Linear Free Energy Relationships and application of the Sabatier Principle.
DTU Compute’ section for Embedded Systems Engineering is looking for a postdoctoral researcher with solid experience in building embedded systems and a strong background in hardware/software co-design. The position is funded by a grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation and is time limited to 2 years and 1 month.
The postdoc will be in charge of developing the supporting software tools which makes the design and implementation of protocols as easy as programming your computer. The postdoc will also be involved in developing hardware instrumentation and interfaces to the biochip.
The project is carried out as a collaboration between 3 departments at DTU and therefore the right applicant is expected to be experienced in working cross-disciplinary in close collaboration with scientists from other research disciplines.

We are looking for a Principal Scientist with a strong research background in psychiatric disorders and molecular biology training to join the Lundbeck Research Neuroscience organization in the department for Signal Transduction. As part of the larger Lundbeck R&D organization, we are focused on utilizing molecular and cellular neuroscience to establish the pharmacodynamic mechanisms of drug candidates at the cellular level and to continuously develop our understanding of disease biology and therapeutic entry points.

DTU Fotonik works with all areas of photonic engineering. The department is now seeking to employ a PhD student to conduct research on using metamaterial platform in biomedical applications, in particularly for detection of cardiac biomarkers.
Detection and identification of trace amount of molecules has immense impact not only on fundamental research but also on the various applications from environmental monitoring to medical and clinical diagnosis.
Therefore, this PhD project aims at developing a sensing platform based on novel metamaterial structures to enhance the sensitivity of molecular detections in mid-infrared wavelengths. We especially aim at the detection of cardiac biomarkers, that is, certain proteins in blood, whose concentration serves as an indicator of “heart attack”, dramatically increasing when one’s heart has a problem.
DTU, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Section for Manufacturing Engineering has a vacant 3-year PhD position in numerical modeling of micro plasto hydrostatic and hydrodynamic lubrication mechanisms. The position is to be filled March 1st, 2019 or soon after that.
Tribology is important for process feasibility, tool wear and component quality in metal forming. Some of the lubrication mechanisms can be enhanced by tailoring tool and workpiece surfaces or by optimizing process parameters.
Numerical simulation of these mechanisms represents an important step towards further understanding of the fundamentals as well as a valuable method to assist the optimization of metal forming processes from a lubrication point of view. The specific area of the PhD project is simulation of micro plasto hydrostatic and hydrodynamic lubrication mechanisms.
DTU Compute’s Section for Embedded Systems Engineering, would like to invite applications for a 3-year PhD position starting February 1st, 2019. The project is financed by a DTU PhD schollarship in collaboration with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
Fog Computing (also known as Real-Time Edge Computing) is a logical extension from Cloud Computing towards the edge of the network (where “things”, such as infrastructure and autonomous systems, are located), enabling applications that demand guarantees in safety, security, and real-time behavior.
The objective of this research project is to develop a Fog Computing platform for the safe and secure deployment of autonomous systems applications, while guaranteeing the non-functional properties, such as real-time behavior, dependability and security.
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Research Engineer who will work with X-ray imaging techniques in a range of projects, including collaborations with different industries.
The successful candidate will work at the Imaging Industry Portal part of the 3D Imaging Center. The position is at the NEXMAP section at DTU Physics and the work will be in strong connection to the LINX project. The LINX (Linking Industries to Neutrons and X-rays) project aims at extending the existing research methods within material science using neutrons and X-rays to solve industry relevant research and development problems.
The DTU part of the LINX project is focusing on X-ray and neutron imaging techniques for material characterization. The job tasks range from planning, monitoring and working on subprojects within the LINX project to participating in other commercial and academic projects carried out at the 3D Imaging Center.
