SSAB - Technical Development Manager - European Graduate Program

SSAB is taking the lead in decarbonizing the steel industry with the brave goal to be largely fossil-free by around 2030. This is the beginning of a transformation that can drive sustainability in ways we can only begin to imagine. To be able to manage this journey towards the future we need a strong and driven workforce that believes in its mission and want to contribute and we are seeking for those persons via our SSAB European Graduate Program. Within the Business Development and Technical Development organization, you will have an important role in developing SSAB Europe’s position in Premium products and the home market, as well as taking the lead in the green transition in the steel industry. You will with your combination of technical knowledge and interest, service minded mindset act as a technical support for sales and customers. You will initiate and execute projects with customer upgrading to Premium products, provide trainings to sales and customers and support customers in terms of design, production and quality.

The program will start in September/October. You will be well taken care of on the location that you will have your position. During the program of 14 months, you will be invited to physical meetings with the rest of the participants in the program to so called Basecamps. The Basecamps will include interesting topics that will support your kick start in the company, mill visits and other important things to support your understanding of SSAB in general and the challenging but oh so interesting journey that lies ahead. Besides the Basecamps you will get your very own senior mentor, and individual onboarding program connected to your specific position where you together with your mentor will plan for an individualized customized study trip to any of our SSAB Europe offices to suit you and your development in the best way possible. Beyond the activities related to the program, you will be placed in an actual position and already from the start be introduced to the assignments and tasks related to your position.

Main responsibilities

• Initiate and implement development projects and activities together with sales andcustomers to upgrade materials to premium products and fossil free steel
• Provide a high level of technical customer support in the areas of design, production and quality to strengthen and develop the relationship with our customers
• Contribute to raising the level of knowledge of sales and our customers by holding seminars and training courses
• Coordinate issues with Sales, Product Development, Product Management, Production,Knowledge Service Centre and other functions within the plant to ensure that we deliver our material according to the customers’ technical specifications

About you

• Appropriate Technical University/School of Economics/Business management or other relevant education. *Recently graduated: maximum 24 months since graduation counted from the start of the program
• Solid English skill
• Solid knowledge in the local language for the location you are applying to
