SSAB is taking the lead in decarbonizing the steel industry with the brave goal to be largely fossil-free by around 2030. About the position

As a salesperson, you play a central role in strengthening our sales team and ensuring a successful sales process. Your primary mission is to actively engage yourself in understanding and meeting our customers’ needs. By building strong customer relationships the focus is to mutually develop profitable long-term GreenCoat SSC and direct business and identify new potential, as such you are part of driving sales success. Your ability to adapt to your customers’ unique requirements and exceed their expectations through proactive communication is crucial. By being a key player in negotiations and pricing, you not only contribute to increasing sales, but also create a positive and long-lasting experience for our customers.

The program will start in September/October. You will be well taken care of on the location that you will have your position. During the program of 14 months, you will be invited to physical meetings with the rest of the participants in the program to so called Basecamps. The Basecamps will include interesting topics that will support your kick start in the company, mill visits and other important things to support your understanding of SSAB in general and the challenging but oh so interesting journey that lies ahead. Besides the Basecamps you will get your very own senior mentor, and individual onboarding program connected to your specific position where you together with your mentor will plan for an individualized customized study trip to any of our SSAB Europe offices to suit you and your development in the best way possible. Beyond the activities related to the program, you will be placed in an actual position and already from the start be introduced to the assignments and tasks related to your position.

Main responsibilities

  • Actively engage in understanding and meeting customer needs
  • Prepare and follow-up quotations
  • Initiate and support sales & marketing activities
  • Jointly monitor stock levels
  • Pro-active monitor local production and progress of pending mill purchase orders
  • Build strong and long-lasting customer relationships
  • Participate in price negotiations

About you

  • You should recently have graduated with a Bachelor's degree in International Business, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. *Recently graduated: maximum 24 months since graduation counted from the start of the program.
  • Solid English skill
  • Solid knowledge in the local language for the location you are applying to

"You will be part of the stock-keeping GreenCoat Steel Service Center organization based in Beuningen, The Netherlands. From this subsidiary we are fully dedicated to develop GreenCoat color coated and laminated steel sales in the Benelux, France, German speaking countries, Italy and Spain. Our specialism is to quickly respond to market demand, on a daily base we are used to prepare quick tailor-made deliveries from the Steel Service Center stock. Customers operating their own de-coiling lines, like profilers, are being supplied direct from the Nordic SSAB mills in Finland and Sweden. For these group of customers we are still the sales contact for the mills.

The local GreenCoat team is relatively small and fully dedicated to GreenCoat color coated and laminated steel. In an informal atmosphere we support your enthusiastic pro-active approach wherein there is room for initiatives and personal development. We believe that key for success and optimum team performance is mutual respect, the organization is flat with short and effective communication lines both locally as internationally with the Nordic mills. The focus is on establishing/maintaining long-term customer relations. In the current GreenCoat Steel Service Center team we are with 19 persons: 5 in sales, 4 in the back-office, 7 in production,1 in accounting and 2 in managerial supporting positions. The working environment is pleasant and open, driven by a strong focus of safety, sustainability, and results.
