Senior Data Engineer

We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer for a 6-month contract, with the possibility for extension, to join our dynamic team based in Stockholm. With 8-10 years of expertise in the field of data engineering, we seek a professional who is not only proficient but also passionate about data-driven solutions. What We Need From You: - Expertise in Modern Data Platforms: Your experience as a Data Engineer on modern cloud data platforms or in advanced analytics environments is essential. If you're a Software Engineer with a focus on cloud technologies and infrastructure, you're the candidate we're looking for! - Proficiency in Data Formats and Languages: Bring your experience with data formats like Avro and Parquet, and query languages such as SQL. - Programming Skills: Experience in data-centric programming using Python, Java, or Scala is crucial, with a preference for Python. - Data Modelling Knowledge: Show your understanding of various data modeling techniques and the trade-offs involved. - Database Expertise: Knowledge of NoSQL and RDBMS databases is key. - GCP Tool Experience: Familiarity with GCP tools like Dataflow, Dataproc, and Bigquery is required. - Data Processing Frameworks: Experience with frameworks such as Beam, Spark, Hive, or Flink is highly valuable. - DevOps Principles: Be a champion of DevOps mindset, capable of managing CI/CD pipelines, terraform, and Cloud infrastructure, especially in GCP. Your Role Will Involve: - Taking end-to-end responsibility for building, optimizing, and supporting existing and new data products. - Ensuring data security and adherence to governance policies. - Collaborating effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication skills. - Being proactive and independent in your work and decision-making processes. Desired Skills: - Fluency in English, both written and verbal. - Previous experience in building retail customer segmentation is a plus. Qualifications: - Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in relevant fields. - Strong skills in Python/Java, GCP data tools, NoSQL, and CI/CD.
