We are the trusted partner to all our factories on their journey towards an integrated digital supply chain and we are now looking for an Automation Engineer.Main responsibilitiesOperations Development is reinforcing the team with an Automation & Robotics specialist. In this role you will be an important member of a central development team with global responsibility. Your task will be development in close cooperation with suppliers, manufacturing units and product development, challenging existing concepts within manufacturing. In this position you will be the driver and architect of smart manufacturing and integrate new technologies in a structured, systematic way and adapt to existing conditions. Main responsibilities include:

• Innovate, develop, verify and implement new equipment, technologies and processes

• Challenge existing technologies and solutions

• Develop and implement tools and methods within automation to improve Alfa Laval Operations

• Initiate, run and participate in internal networks to develop the specialist area

• Participate in networks/projects outside of Alfa Laval to strengthen our capabilities

The position is based in Lund and you will report to an Operations Development Manager. The role may involve travelling up to 30 days per year.QualificationsYou have a technical degree within Automation, Electrical engineering or similar and a strong technical background. A good understanding of automation technology, installations and start-up of equipment and at least 10 years of relevant experience from manufacturing industries, with a good understanding of system design, automation technologies and commissioning of equipment.Experience of and knowledge in Rockwell is preferable and/or experience of working with Siemens, Aveva, as well as robotics and AMRs. Experience of machine learning and vision is a plus. We think you have experience within system architecture in the above-mentioned areas. Operations Development's mission is to work with the automation of the future for Alfa Laval. You should therefore have experience and understanding of entire systems and what is required for newer technology to be implemented and used.As a person, you are driven, curious, enthusiastic and a committed problem solver with good communicating skills, a great technical interest and open minded to new technology.
