Randstad Engineering are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer with experience of working with plastic materials for a challenging and exciting consultant assignment. As a Mechanical Designer on this assignment, you will play a vital role in the design and development of mowers and engines at our customer's site.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the design of mower and electric motor components, focusing on plastic injection parts.
• Engage with testing teams for both system and mechanical testing, demonstrating a keen interest in testing outcomes.
• Ensure designs are easy to disassemble and reassemble, minimizing the risk of incorrect assembly.
• Conduct stress and plastic simulations to optimize product durability and performance.
• Work closely with manufacturing sites to align design processes with production capabilities.
• Participate in weekly mechanical check-ins and pulse meetings to stay informed about project developments.
• Manage individual work packages in Jira, contributing to the overall goals of the team.
• Collaborate with the prototype workshop to expedite the verification of solutions at the component level.
• Promote close collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably in the development of mowers or similar products.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and simulation tools for stress and plastic analysis.
• Strong understanding of materials, with experience in plastics such as ASA and PP.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Familiarity with the full product development life-cycle, from concept to manufacturing.
• Previous experience with Jira or similar project management tools is a plus.
