Our Internship Programme offers that opportunity and provides you with a great foundation to boost your career in a transforming industry. Take the opportunity to join our 5-month-long career-boosting Internship Programme in Gothenburg Sweden, together with other students from around the globe!  For the right person, an inspiring, visionary workplace awaits, that will give you a great understanding of what it’s like to work at Volvo Cars. You will be valued for your unique contribution, skills and background and ability to see things from a new perspective!  Offer highlights  The programme takes place between February 3rd – June 27th, 2025.  * 29 000 SEK monthly gross salary and a full-time temporary employment  * Working model: On-site at Headquarter in Gothenburg  * 3500 SEK health care allowance per year (to use on wellness activities such as our inhouse gym)   * Visa/work permit support given where necessary  * Costs for flight tickets covered for international moves  * Assistance in finding accommodation for candidates moving to Sweden  Furthermore, the Internship Programme offers common onboarding days, developed business understanding, personal-development opportunities, mentorship, and joint activities with the other students.   What you’ll do  In our car plant we are offering engineering students positions where you get to work in our new Aluminum foundry, the Paint shop, or Battery Assembly.  In the Aluminum foundry students will, amongst other tasks, get to develop and implement technical regulations with product demands that work in the foundry process. The internship involves handling and visualizing large amounts of data in a structured way; therefore, it is key to have experience from quality assurance.  At our Paint shop, we have a lot of technical equipment, including ovens and robots, which impacts our environment. Students map the current state for the Paint shop and develop tools for increasing the shop's sustainability work. One example could be to take part in shaping the shops' sustainability roadmap.  Battery Assembly is developing the next generation automotive batteries and students will contribute to the sustainability development of the assembly process.   For some positions, students will get to analyze and optimize the operational performance of the machines used in the manufacturing of battery packs. The goal is to increase the energy efficiency of the machines, reduce downtime, and improve the overall production capacity.  More details on the project that you will be working on as well as the team which you will join will be presented at a possible interview with the potential manager/mentor.  What you’ll bring  To be eligible to apply you must be enrolled at a university and have an ongoing Bachelor (3rd and 4th year) or Master's education during the Internship Programme.  For positions in our Car Plant you should have ongoing studies within electrical, mechanical or automotive engineering, or metallurgy. For one of our positions in The Battery assembly, we are specifically looking for environmental engineering students.  PLC programming skills are meritorious, so is experience from LEAN or Minitab.  We believe that you are a great networker and communicator. You are curious, have a positive attitude, and are interested in developing yourself, others, as well as our business.  As we are an international workplace, you must be fluent in English, spoken and written.   The programme is open to applicants from all over the world and we welcome diversity in all aspects. For international applicants you must hold a passport that is valid for at least 6 months after the end of the programme.  Recruitment process    An email confirmation will be sent as soon as you have applied. After application screening, all eligible candidates will be invited to conduct an online assessment. You can apply to several internship programme positions but will only do the assessments once. The last step in the recruitment process is an interview with the hiring manager via Microsoft Teams. Selected candidates for the programme will be informed throughout June.  Seems like something for you?  Boost your career and apply today! You apply by creating a profile on the Volvo Cars career site and submit your application consisting of CV and cover letter in English.     Apply as soon as possible, but no later than Sunday May 5th ,2024 (midnight CET). For questions, you are welcome to contact us at globalinternship@volvocars.com
