Generate empathy and gather insights The Head of User Research is a Director level position that will report of the Head of UX and will oversee a team performing generative and evaluative redesign for a number of teams. You will lead a distributed team of User Researcher working across a number of different product areas including Car Design, Car UX and the mobile app to support the Design and Product teams in key initiatives. You will contribute as a discipline lead to the UX Leadership team and UX practice at Volvo. You are great leader who can inspire the team, and lead them to have a respectful culture and high performance. You are expert in the craft and know various research tools and processes that can pick the right combination for the task at hand. You are are interested in data and research of all types, looking to synthesize and collect data from multiple sources to gather user insights and build empathy for the teams designing our products and services. You can lead at all levels including leadership development, team building and recruiting. You are structured and can drive people management tasks, such as performance reviews an salary setting. You can work with senior stakeholders, communicate clearly at different levels of the organization and collaborate well with others. You will partner closely with Design and Product leaders on research strategies and projects. You are not afraid to standup for the teams learnings. You are a great communicator and can help tell stories that build customer empathy while being honest about the truths that data can show. You strive to build a customer-centric culture around you and for the copmany More about you: * Have around at least ten years of UX research experience at product companies * Have about five years' experience managing multi-disciplinary research teams Are experienced in working with design, product, marketing and engineering team * Have experience with managing stakeholders in large and complex organizations * Have contributed extensively to strategy and planning * Have managed research budgets Have a proven track-record of delivering research outputs on time and contributing to key product impacts Speak and write fluent English. * Are able to provide a portfolio of projects (or samples of preview work) to which you have made a substantial contribution and/or make a portfolio presentation as part of the selection process.
