Job Description


We are now looking for the new manager for one of our teams in Accounting Record-to-Report (R2R), located in Solna. Accounting R2R is one of the functions in Vattenfall’s shared service organisation Finance Business Support, serving the vast majority of companies in the Vattenfall Group. Accounting R2R provides the accounting expertise to the units in Vattenfall with a strong focus on quality and compliance. Accounting R2R is the accounting expert for IFRS and the local accounting regulation, preparing postings, managing the closings and the external audit, providing financial statements.

For the best support of the Vattenfall units, the General Accounting teams in Accounting R2R are organised with a clear country assignment while Fixed Assets processes are supported by a central cross-country team. We are offering now the manager position in one of our two General Accounting teams in Sweden, which supports Vattenfall companies in Sweden, Finland and Norway. In this position you are responsible for a team of accounting professionals, supported by accounting specialists.

Finance Business Support works with a Business Process Outsourcing partner (BPO) who also supports sub-processes in the Accounting R2R function.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Structures the General Accounting tasks for the supported companies and reporting units in a way, that the team’s capabilities and strengths are best utilised
  • Creates an inspiring, stimulating, goal oriented and supportive working climate by setting clear goals and responsibilities and enabling competence development
  • Ensures that the services are executed with high quality and timeliness of the delivery; monitoring the progress in the closings, taking corrective action where needed and working operationally with the team in order to reach targets/deadlines
  • Establishes a contact structure towards the business that is reliable, robust and trusted; contacts could and should be shared between all team members and the team manager
  • Organises effective and efficient processes: Identifies improvement areas as well as risks, encourages an improvement culture and assures the implementation of improvements and risk mitigation, drives change
  • Main contact person for the auditors for the Statutory Accounts and the local IFRS reviews for Vattenfall’s group figures. Coordinates the audit process, organising meetings and information flow.
  • Main contact person for Vattenfall’s Group Accounting team
  • Responsible for creating a well-functioning operational collaboration between the team and the BPO provider
  • Cooperates with the other team managers in Accounting R2R to assure harmonised application of IFRS requirements across countries and to further harmonise processes
  • Designs and implements effective and efficient interfaces to other staff functions; makes sure information is shared between the different teams in Finance Business Support
  • Staff responsibility for the team; handling recruitments, promotions, competence development and salary negotiations together with department manager and HR
  • Reports to department manager regarding target fulfilment, escalates issues/claims when needed to mitigate risk.



Qualifications


To be successful in the position you need to have strong leadership skills and an eagerness to manage and coach teams to deliver on common targets. You are a strong communicator and have the ability to establish trust and build relationships inside your own team as well as towards stakeholders. You are used to work against deadlines and have functional methods to handle the stress that might occur. Analytical, proactive, solution orientated, engagement and credibility are all words that people might use to describe your personal skills.

Skills and experience needed:

  • Relevant University degree (e.g. Business and administration) or comparable other training
  • Proven experience from managing teams
  • Experience from working within Finance operations in a Shared Service organisation
  • Deep understanding of accounting rules, Swedish accounting regulation as well as IFRS
  • Good understanding of all Finance / Accounting processes
  • Professional proficiency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
  • Insights in the energy business will be beneficial

Additional Information

Location: Solna. Travelling may occur, mainly to Vattenfall locations in the Nordics
