The role

As a Data Scientist at our streaming company, you will play a key role in extracting actionable insights from large datasets to drive informed business decisions. You will work in a team with Data Scientists, Data analysts, and Analytics Engineers who share knowledge and experience in researching and developing data products and analysis. Your expertise in statistical analysis will drive an in-depth exploration of user behaviour, content performance, and market trends, empowering cross-functional teams with data-driven insights.

Some of your daily tasks will include:

• Conducting advanced statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights related to user behaviour and content consumption
• Collaborating with commercial, marketing, and content teams to deliver data-driven recommendations for content curation, user engagement strategies, and overarching business strategies
• Providing statistical expertise in analysing large datasets and conducting ad-hoc analyses to address specific business challenges and support strategic initiatives
• Fostering engagement with business intelligence tools and statistical models across the organization to enhance data visualization and analytical capabilities

What we’re looking for

We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, or other relevant programming languages
• Strong statistical and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
• A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience

It’s a bonus if you have:

• Scala/Spark knowledge
• Streaming/media industry experience
• Databricks
• AWS
