Job Description

Join our team and contribute to the success of our industry projects by ensuring cost efficiency and financial integrity throughout the project lifecycle. We are looking for a seasoned cost/quantity surveyor, who is eager to apply their skills in consultancy projects whilst also building this capability internally in our organisation.

Your new department

Our Industry division is situated in our Buildings market, however, many of our projects are multidisciplinary and involve close collaboration with other markets as well. We help clients within various industries to navigate the green transition by providing a wide range of engineering services covering the entire business lifecycle – from acquisition due diligence to site selection and construction.

You will join a department, which has a strong track record of delivering sustainable projects to local and global clients within the industry sector. Whilst we have already established ourselves as a key player in the engineering consultancy space, we also find that there is still great potential to scale-up our business and commercialise it even more – which is where you come into the picture. We currently do not have a setup for cost/quantity surveying but are keen on integrating this in our projects and over time building a centre of excellence for this within the Swedish organisation. Consequently, there will be plenty of opportunity for you to shape not only your own role, but generally how we work with this area in the organisation nationally.

Your new role

As a Quantity/Cost Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in analysing construction projects, determining costs, and providing accurate estimations. Your expertise will ensure that projects are financially viable and completed within budget constraints. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct thorough cost and quantity evaluations of construction projects.
  • Utilise various methods to estimate costs for proposed projects.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets by providing accurate cost estimations and collaborating with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Analyse tender documents and proposals to assess cost implications and ensure competitiveness.
  • Analysing tender returns (from contractor) and recommendations.
  • Provide input on value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying deviations from budgets and implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Prepare regular reports on project cost status, highlighting variances, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Reviewing progress claims and variations from the contractor during construction.

About you

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • Several years of proven experience with cost and quantity surveying in the construction industry or similar.
  • An understanding of construction procurement, processes, and contracts
  • Experience of contract administration.
  • Knowledge of estimating, valuation and cost reporting (budget management).
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.

Interested?

We hope that the above resonates with you and that you are ready to join Ramboll! Please submit your application online, and we will be in touch as soon as possible.

Deadline: 31 May 2024.

We look forward to receiving your application!
