Bergen Tankers is seeking Chief Engineer (C/E) for Tanker - Oil Chemical vessel under Norwegian flag (NOR) for Norwegian Coastal Trade. Application deadline: 30 April 2024 Working Hours: Full-time/ 4 weeks rotation Responsibilities: - Head of the engine room department and responsible for follow-up and training of the engine crew onboard - Accountable for safe operation and maintenance of the vessels equipment and systems - Liable for daily reporting of technical matters, and contribute to planning of dockings and yard stays - Obligated to ensuring sufficient amounts of the necessary oils, bunkers, spare parts and supplies are on board - Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards - Play an active role in developing instructions and procedures - Collaborate with other officers and crew to ensure smooth vessel operations - Participate in emergency drills and response procedures - Head of the engine room department and responsible for follow-up and training of the engine crew onboard Qualifications: - Extensive experience as Chief Engineer on oil and chemical tankers - M2/Oil/Chem advanced-ERM-STCW Safety-IGF/LNG advanced - Experience with LNG powered engines - Proficiency in handling cargo pumps, ballast systems, and other relevant equipment - Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations - Experience from SIRE vettings - Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills - Scandinavian language preferred To succeed it is important that you have good communication skills and see the value of having a good dialogue with colleagues on board and on shore.
