Avionics and Electrical Engineer

OHB Sweden · · Ansök senast 28 sep. (152 dagar kvar)

Heltid · Tillsvidareanställning

All our satellite projects involve a very broad range of expertise, covering for example design, electrical analysis, software, avionics architecture, radiation, EMC, thermal, testing, and integration. This requires a broad and flexible skill set for all those working at OHB Sweden. With this in mind, and in order to support the existing team, we are looking for a motivated avionics and electrical engineer, who has exposure and familiarity to electrical integration and test of avionics units for embedded systems.

The Avionics and Electrical engineer is expected to support the overall electrical design of the satellite, interacting with satellite system engineers and avionics unit suppliers (technical support to procurement, requirements specification, performance mapping, harness design) and perform subsystem level activities (test planning, functional and performance tests, debug) but is also able to design avionics devices and test equipment (Electrical Ground Support Equipment), and guide the technicians through assembly instructions. Naturally, all these steps require close interactions with the other engineers and technicians in house covering the other areas listed above.

The work is mostly executed in a typical office environment, but the hardware is handled in our own clean rooms, electrical labs, and environmental labs. So being comfortable in a typical engineering office/project environment, whilst also being at ease in a lab environment, is very important.

We are looking for a team-player, able to learn quickly and to provide technical advice to team members, as well has having the ability to work autonomously. The Avionics and Electrical Engineer will work in close cooperation with system, subsystem (including software), and AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test) engineers. Capability for problem solving and initiative are necessary as well as the ability to work in a pragmatic way focusing on finding the right level of quality and to deliver on time.

Tasks breakdown can be summarized roughly as:

  • Electronic design (Analog and digital design) of Electrical Ground Support Equipment for tests and check-out activities on spacecraft,
  • Avionics unit requirements specification, operation, and interface to Spacecraft,
  • Harness Design,
  • Defining and designing test plans, procedures, and setups, as well as documenting and reporting,
  • Be able to provide clear and coherent reporting and presentations in the English language.

Required qualifications:

  • As a minimum, Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines,
  • At least 2 years of experience in a electrical design and testing environment related to embedded system and equipments (automotive, avionics, UAV, etc.)
  • Experience in handling electrical schematics and datasheets. A good electrical understanding is expected,
  • Experience in FPGA and digital architecture design, as well as FPGA Simulation,
  • Experience with Analog Design and Spice simulators,
  • Experience with Python or other scripted languages,
  • Familiarity with common electronic measurement equipments (oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.)
  • Familiarity with programming languages (C, C++),
  • Comfortable with basic mechanical and electrical construction,
  • Fluent in the English language, both spoken and written,
  • Located in, or willingness to relocate to, Stockholm, Sweden.

Added advantageous qualifications:

  • Experience in lab hardware selection and procurement,
  • Familiarity with the Space Business and knowledge of the European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS),

The Avionics and Electrical Engineer will work in the Avionics and Electrical department and report to the Head of Department. Travels may be required (3-5 trips per year primarily within Europe).

If you wish to participate to the development of future space systems, feel confident that your experience and qualifications match the above requirements and want to find yourself in a dynamic and inspiring work environment, then we very much look forward to hearing from you!
