Our role in Vattenfall is to maximize the value of the overall portfolio by optimizing and dispatching, hedging, and sourcing for Vattenfall's sales and generation volumes. We serve as Vattenfall's single access to energy commodity markets and trade electricity, emissions, fuels, freight, and renewable certificates.
We, theLegal Departmentsupporting BA Markets, are a cross locational team with lawyers located in Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany. We are committed to support the wide variety of current BA Market's activities as well as the development of new products in close collaboration with various other departments to grow the business of BA Markets within Vattenfall.

Legal Counsel
for our Business Area Markets, Staff Function Legal & CEO Office for our centralHamburg office in a permanent role.
Your key responsibilities
As a part of the legal department you will advise on a variety of legal matters including:
- Developing agreements and structures to meet the challenges of the energy transition (e.g. battery energy storage systems (BESS)) in close collaboration with the business
- Drafting and reviewing master trading documentation and bespoke agreements for commodity and allowances/certificates trading and related documentation including credit support documents, NDAs, exclusivity agreements, etc.
- Participating in projects/working groups providing strategic legal advice to the organization
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact the business
- Instructing and working with external counsel
Your qualifications
- German law degree with excellent qualification
- 3+ years of experience in energy related commercial/contract law and/or financial trading law - preferably gained in a reputable law firm, legal department of an international (trading) company or bank
- Excellent command of the English and German language (written & spoken)
- Strong analytical capabilities, highly self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
